Morning Commute by Jeep and Train

Maaga pa.

It’s still early.

Papasok ako sa eskwela.

I’m going to school.

Sumakay ako ng jeep sa kanto.

I rode a jeep at the corner.

Sabi ko, "Bayad po, estudyante."

I said, "Fare please, student."

Inabot ng katabi ang bayad ko.

My seatmate passed my fare forward.

Mabagal ang takbo dahil may trapik.

The ride was slow because there was traffic.

"Para po," sabi ko sa driver.

"Please stop," I said to the driver.

Bumaba ako sa tapat ng istasyon ng tren.

I got off in front of the train station.

Bumili ako ng ticket.

I bought a ticket.

Sumakay ako ng tren.

I rode the train.

Puno, pero tiis lang.

It was crowded, but I endured.

Sakto sa oras ang dating ko.

I arrived right on time.
