Arabic, a Semitic language, is spoken by over 400 million native speakers across the Arab world, from the Middle East to North Africa, and as a liturgical language by Muslims globally. Romanization is the representation of a non-Latin script language in the Latin alphabet to aid pronunciation and understanding for those unfamiliar with the original script.
